EEG and Clinical Neuroscience Society (ECNS)
The EEG and Clinical Neuroscience Society (ECNS) was established in 1998 through the merger of two prominent organizations: the American Medical EEG Association (AMEGA) and the American Psychiatric Electrophysiology Association (APEA). This society represents a dynamic and forward-thinking community of professionals dedicated to advancing clinical and scientific knowledge in neurophysiology and neuroscience.
Our Mission
ECNS aims to promote excellence in the clinical practice and application of techniques such as classic electroencephalography (EEG), quantitative EEG (QEEG), evoked potentials (EP), magnetoencephalography (MEG) polysomnography (PSG-sleep EEG), and advanced neurostimulation methods, including), electroconvulsive therapy (ECT), EEG neurofeedback, transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) and deep brain stimulation (DBS). Additionally, the society integrates newer brain imaging modalities like SPECT, PET, and functional MRI (fMRI) to enhance our understanding of brain function.
What We Do?
As an international organization, ECNS is committed to the dissemination of cutting-edge research and education in the fields of neurophysiology and neurobehavioral disorders. Our focus includes understanding, treating, and preventing a wide range of conditions, such as epilepsy, head injury, pain syndromes, movement disorders, cerebrovascular disorders, metabolic and degenerative disorders, thought disorders, mood disorders, anxiety disorders, personality disorders, and substance dependence.
Through annual congresses, professional courses, and a peer-reviewed journal —Clinical EEG and Neuroscience— members have access to a wealth of resources and opportunities. Our congress provides a collaborative environment where professionals can engage with leading experts, gain insights into experimental research design, and exchange innovative ideas.
Why Join ECNS?
By joining ECNS, members gain access to:
- Educational resources taught by MD and PhD experts in clinical electrophysiology and neuroimaging.
- Networking opportunities with leading professionals in neurology, psychiatry, and behavioral neuroscience.
- A free subscription to the society's official journal.
- Financial support for young investigators to present their research at our annual congress.
ECNS membership is open to both MD and non-MD professionals as well as corporate contributors. With affordable membership fees and a global network of collaborators, ECNS offers a platform for intellectual growth and professional development.
